The event is a magnificent ploughing spectacle for the general public as well as the farming community.  The ploughing, together with tractor rides, a falconry display, trade stands and stalls and a popular fun dog show, attract visitors from across the area.

The 2023 Ploughing Match and Show

The 170th Annual Ploughing Match and Show

The show site was an ideal combination of stubble for the ploughing and grass for the marquee and show stands, kindly provided by Matt Sell and Giles Philp. The local Young Farmers Club used the marquee for a pre-show BBQ and music evening. After a spell of unsettled harvest weather the show day was bathed in glorious sunshine. The ground was in perfect condition for the ploughing and some exceptional work was done in the field. The produce show attracted a good entry and the dog show was very well supported as usual. Refreshments were sold in aid of The Thames Hospice, which also collected donations from the ever-popular tractor rides.
