Ploughing

2017 Ploughing Match & Show

Our 2017 Ploughing Match and Show was held at Frogmore Farm, Littlewick Green.
We are very grateful to Christopher and Rowena Westacott for hosting the Match.

We were once again blessed with wonderful weather and a fantastic venue at Frogmore Farm, with way over 1000 visitors and our marvellous ploughmen and judges taking part in the annual ploughing competition – a wonderful sight to see. With amazing sponsorship support from our corporate exhibitors and commercial stands, the day was undoubtedly our most successful so far.

Our food stands, the delicious ploughmen’s lunches and bar were very popular all day, with the lovely Macmillan tea, coffee and cake stand making an astounding £1,300.00 for the charity and our live auction of the fruit, veg and flower stand raised our best total to date!

Show attractions including; traditional horse ploughing, modern ploughing, a miniature steam engine, traditional tractor log cutting display, trailer rides around the ground, ice cream van, interactive bird of prey display and metal detecting – all went down a storm with the public and members alike.

Our domestic classes had a fabulous entry, creating great interest in the marquee, as did the Association’s history in photographs display and the dog show was our biggest and best so far, with an astonishing entry of 80 gorgeous dogs.
