Ploughing

2018 Ploughing Match & Show

This year’s Ploughing Match & Show was held at Marsh Lane, Taplow on Sunday 30th September by kind permission of Mr Peter Prior.

165th Annual Ploughing Match & Dog Show

“A wonderful atmosphere and a fun packed day for all the family – another year and another fantastic show”

We were once again blessed with lovely weather and had a fantastic turnout of visitors (over 1000). Our ploughmen and women also turned out in full force, their horses, vintage and modern tractors and ploughs are always a wonderful sight to see and this year was no exception.

The exciting bird of prey display was watched by a huge crowd, as was our ever popular dog show (with over 139 entries and the most beautiful dogs in attendance). Our tea, coffee and cake stand looked lovely again this year and was as popular as ever – always a queue! The non-stop tractor/trailer ride took in the whole show and was packed all day long and the metal detecting stand had visitors looking for buried treasure, plus had many interesting finds on display found on our show site, going back as far as the Stone Age. The traditional log cutting display was of real interest to visitors across the generations and the auction of our very smart fruit and veg stand was also a huge hit, drawing a large, generous crowd, even though it’s held near the end of the day.

Many of our Sponsors were in attendance this year, bringing along their very smart Trade Stands, it’s always great to see them and much appreciated to have their support every year.

We are delighted to confirm that, so far, REBAA has raised in excess of £1500.00 for our chosen charity this year; Child Bereavement UK and a further percentage from the show will be added to this total soon.

Thank you to everyone who came along, participated and supported us and to everyone who has worked so hard year on year, to make the show the huge success it has become.
